Located in Houston, Texas, Texas Southern University has a student strength of more than 9,500 students for whom it offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The university was established by the Texas legislature in 1947 to educate African-Americans in fields like pharmacy, dentistry, the arts and sciences, journalism, education, literature, law and medicine. It offers its study programs through its 5 colleges, namely, College of Continuing Education, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, College of Science and Technology, College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences and College of Education.
