该法于2019年7月1日生效。除医生外，新法还适用于经加州骨科医学委员会(Osteopathic Medical Board of California)丶加州足病医学委员会(California Board of Podiatric Medicine)丶自然疗法医学委员会(the Naturopathic Medicine Committee)丶加州脊椎按摩检验委员会( the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners)丶以及针灸委员会(the Acupuncture Board)等许可的医疗保健提供者。
